چکیده

Traditional finite-temperature Kohn-Sham density functional theory (KSDFT) has an unfavorable scaling with respect to the electron number or at high temperatures. The evaluation of ground-state in KSDFT can be replaced by Chebyshev trace (CT) method. In addition, use stochastic orbitals within CT method leads [Phys. Rev. Lett. 111, 106402 (2013)] (SDFT) and its improved theory, mixed stochastic-deterministic 125, 055002 (2020)] (MDFT). We have implemented above four methods first-principles package ABACUS. All are based on plane-wave basis set norm-conserving pseudopotentials periodic boundary conditions $k$-point sampling Brillouin zone. By using calculation results as benchmarks, we systematically evaluate accuracy efficiency CT, SDFT, MDFT via examining a series physical properties, which include density, free energy, atomic forces, stress, states for few condensed phase systems. suggest that our implementations not only reproduce accuracy, but also exhibit several advantages over tradition expect these great help studying high-temperature large-size extended systems such warm dense matter plasma.

Density Functional Theory with a Linearized Augmented Plane Wave Basis

The forumulation of quantum mechanics in the early half of the twentith century gave the foundation for understanding the interactions between electrons and nuceli. However when an interacting system composed of many particles is considered the use of quantum mechanics is cumbersome. Very quickly the calculations are intractable by hand and even with the invention of computers these systems can...

Gaussian and plane-wave mixed density fitting for periodic systems.

We introduce a mixed density fitting scheme that uses both a Gaussian and a plane-wave fitting basis to accurately evaluate electron repulsion integrals in crystalline systems. We use this scheme to enable efficient all-electron Gaussian based periodic density functional and Hartree-Fock calculations.

Stochastic time-dependent current-density-functional theory.

A time-dependent current-density-functional theory for many-particle systems in interaction with arbitrary external baths is developed. We prove that, given the initial quantum state |Psi0> and the particle-bath interaction operator, two external vector potentials A(r,t) and A'(r,t) that produce the same ensemble-averaged current density, j(r,t), must necessarily coincide up to a gauge transfor...
